Automata Course Scheduler: timetable grid with clash detection

01 Automata: Course Scheduler

Replaces the manual Excel workflow for assigning ~200 students into tutorial groups and detecting timetable clashes across 7 concurrent degree tracks.

  • Multi-track clash detection, week-pattern aware
  • Capacity-aware option-group generation with A/B/C plan tradeoff
  • Instructor teaching-load visibility + alternative-slot scoring

02 Automata: MC Submission Pipeline

End-to-end automation for medical leave processing: OCR, clinic verification against national open-data, 10-check validation, and risk-weighted anti-fraud sampling. Runs fully on-premises.

  • OCR + validation in under 60 seconds (1–2 days manual)
  • Bundled error-email feedback to students
  • Local LLM classifies clinic replies for fraud deterrence

I’m a final-year Chemistry undergraduate at NTU building internal automation tools for the boring-but-important stuff. I work solo, using AI as leverage, and ship production tools one faculty actually uses. Solo isn’t a headcount shortfall. It’s the execution model. I architect, code, test, and ship every tool myself, directing structured AI agent teams in parallel.

My thesis: software with AI acceleration is collapsing the cost curve of institutional internal tools. A solo builder can now deliver production software at a unit cost universities can absorb. That’s the category I’m building in.
